Frequently Asked Questions

When did Rebecca's open?
Rebecca's opened in November of 1985. We were first located on Central Street in Downtown and after enlarging twice, we moved into our current location on Main Street.

Is there really a Rebecca?
Yes, there is. Rick's wife is Rebecca and after much thought in 1985, the store was named for her.

I've heard of Bangor, Maine before, but I can't think why. Do any famous people live there?
Most definitely! The renowned author, Stephen King, former Secretary of State William Cohen and our Governor John Baldacci all claim Bangor as their "hometown".

I collect Fenton glass and am looking for a special collector's piece. Can you help?
Hopefully! We are a Showcase Dealer for Fenton Glass and have many pieces that aren't available in other retail stores. Please email or call us to let us know what you're looking for and we'll try to help you out.

Do you purchase from Maine artisans?
Candles Yes, we do. Many tourists pass through Bangor on their way to or from Bar Harbor (45 minutes away) or Canada. Many also stop in while traveling through Bangor International Airport. These tourists, as well as our local shoppers, love to purchase Maine made items for their friends. Some of these include blueberry dishes, decorative wreaths, candles, historic wooden cutout buildings, cards, prints, slates, buoy bells and even baby clothes. We also carry many items associated with the state of Maine.
